Edge Detection
- Using EdgeDetector 1.0
These are the results of edge detection obtained by using
EdgeDetector 1.0 with various combinations
of the two parameters: Edge contrast lower limit (LL) and edge
strength (ES). Images in each section correspond to the ES
parameter list at the top of the section in the order of from left
to right in each row, and from top to bottom row.
The head image was downloaded from Dave Eberly's
page.
No pre-processing was applied to the original image before the
EdgeDetector was used to obtain the results below. When Gaussian
smoothing was applied first, the results
may be quite different, and the edges tend to be more connected.
Improved results are obtained by using EdgeDetector 1.1
from the same image and from synthetic test images.
